Eye Hospital Trusted by Rewari Patients

Every week we see patients who have driven up NH-48 from Rewari and Dharuhera — usually for something a local clinic had already said needed a surgeon. We are one NABH-accredited eye hospital in Sector 15, Gurugram, with six sub-specialities under one roof — about 55–60 km up the highway. This page gives you the honest answer on whether that journey is worth making.

Why Rewari Patients Choose Dayal Eye Centre

Dayal Eye Centre is a single, NABH-accredited eye hospital in Gurugram — not a chain, and not a separate Rewari branch. Don't Let Distance Make You Postpone

How Soon Should You Be Seen?

Distance makes people postpone. Some eye problems tolerate that; a few do not. If either of the first two rows applies, go to the nearest eye casualty today and travel later.

What You NoticeHow Soon
Sudden vision loss, a curtain across your field of view, or new floaters with flashes Same day — emergency
Eye injury, chemical splash, or severe eye pain with redness and vomiting Same day
Diabetes with no retinal check in the last 12 months Within weeks — even without symptoms
Gradual blurring, glare from headlights at night, washed-out colours Within a month — typical of cataract
Family history of glaucoma, or high pressure noted at a camp Within a month
A child tilting the head or with an eye that drifts Within a month — respond better early
Only your glasses number has changed A local optometrist is enough

Not sure which of these is you? A single consultation with our doctors tells you exactly where you stand.

The Honest Answer First

Is It Worth Travelling 60 km for Your Eyes?

Often, no. Sometimes, very much yes. It depends entirely on what is wrong — so here is the split, plainly.

Stay Local For This

A local clinic or optometrist is enough

A routine refraction, a change in your glasses number, a new spectacle prescription, a stye (guheri), a mild eye allergy or a first-line dry-eye complaint are handled well close to home. A 60 km trip for a power check is not a sensible use of your day, and we would rather say so.

Travelling Is Usually Justified For This

The case has outgrown a general clinic

Vitreo-retinal surgery for a detached or bleeding retina, glaucoma filtering surgery such as trabeculectomy, oculoplasty and reconstructive eyelid work, corneal transplant and collagen cross-linking (CXL), complex or high-power refractive cases, and paediatric squint surgery need a surgeon who performs that operation regularly, a modular theatre and the diagnostics to plan it properly.

That is the real reason patients come up from Rewari — not because we are nearer, but because the case has outgrown what is available nearby. If your problem sits in the first list, we will say so rather than find reasons for you to keep returning. Surgery is never automatic either: suitability depends on a detailed evaluation — not every patient is a candidate, and we will tell you plainly if you are not.

Cost & Schemes

Cost, ECHS and CGHS, Insurance and Easy EMI

Rewari sits in a belt with a strong defence and ex-servicemen connection and a large ECHS-entitled population. We are empanelled with ECHS, and also with CGHS, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) and the Health Department, Government of Haryana. If you hold an ECHS card, bring it with your referral paperwork to the first visit — getting the referral chain right before you travel saves an entire round trip.

Cashless treatment is available across a wide panel of insurers and TPAs, including the four PSU insurers and companies such as HDFC ERGO, TATA AIG, Star Health and Niva Bupa; the full list is on our policies and insurance page. For self-paying patients, Easy EMI via Savein covers LASIK, cataract and retina procedures, with EMI also through NBFC partners and select debit cards.

ProcedureIndicative Starting Range
Cataract surgery, per eye₹26,000 – ₹93,000 by lens type; femto/laser-assisted extra
Standard LASIKFrom ₹40,000 (typical ₹70,000 – ₹84,000)
SBK LASIK · PRK / Epi-Contoura / StreamLight₹30,000 – ₹40,000 · ₹40,000 – ₹70,000
Femto LASIK · Contoura Vision₹80,000 – ₹1,00,000 · ₹95,000 – ₹1,05,000
SMILEFrom ₹1,25,000
Glaucoma — laser / trabeculectomy / drainage implant₹35,000–₹40,000 · ₹30,000–₹40,000 · ₹40,000–₹50,000
Pre-surgery screening₹3,000 – ₹3,500
Cashless Insurance & TPA
ECHS
CGHS
Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY)
Haryana Health Dept.
Easy EMI (via Savein)

These are indicative starting ranges, subject to an individual consultation and eye examination. Your final cost depends on your eyes, the lens or technology chosen and your investigation findings.

For defence and police aspirants

Candidates from around Rewari often ask whether laser vision correction will make them eligible. Eye criteria and post-surgery stand-down periods differ between recruitment boards, arms and entry schemes, and are revised periodically. Confirm the current requirement in the official notification for the exact post and bring it to your consultation, so we advise you against the real criteria rather than a general rule.

Not sure your case needs surgery?

Consult with our doctors about whether your case genuinely needs surgical care — or can be looked after closer to home.

Getting Here From Rewari — by Road and by Rail

By road. We are approximately 55–60 km from Rewari, generally 75–100 minutes depending on traffic, via NH-48 (the Delhi–Jaipur Expressway) through Dharuhera, Bhiwadi and Manesar. We sit just off NH-48 in Sector 15 Part 2, about 150 m from 32nd Avenue — the simplest landmark to navigate to. There is on-site parking, with ramps and lifts for wheelchair access. Times are approximate and traffic-dependent; the Manesar-to-Rajiv Chowk stretch varies most.

By rail, if you would rather not drive. Rewari Junction is a major railway junction with frequent services towards Gurugram and Delhi, and for an elderly patient or anyone travelling alone the train is often the calmer option. Get down at Gurgaon railway station and take a short auto or cab. If you travel on towards Delhi, return on the Yellow Line to IFFCO Chowk metro station, 3.5–4 km away and 10–12 minutes by auto — the most practical metro option. Shared autos and e-rickshaws wait at 32nd Avenue and along the NH-48 service road. Timetables change seasonally, so check exact train timings for your travel date.

Planning the Trip: How Many Visits Will You Need?

A little planning turns the drive from Rewari into as few trips as your treatment honestly allows. Here is the shape of it.

Visit 1 — consultation and workup

Examination, dilation and the scans your problem needs — biometry for cataract, tomography for laser vision correction, OCT for retina, fields for glaucoma. We aim to finish the workup in the same visit, so allow two to three hours and travel only once for tests.

Visit 2 — the procedure

Most eye procedures here are same-day day care: you come in, you are operated on, you go home the same day. Our in-patient ward is there if your surgeon feels an overnight stay is sensible — worth knowing when home is 60 km away.

Visit 3 onwards — follow-up

Cataract, retina, glaucoma and laser vision correction each have their own review schedule, usually a next-day or first-week check and then reviews over the following weeks. Ask how many yours needs and which can be spaced out for a patient travelling from Rewari — some can be, some genuinely cannot.

On the Day

What to bring and plan for

Book an early slot — clear the Manesar traffic and get home in daylight
Do not drive yourself back — dilation drops blur vision for hours; bring someone, or take the train
Glasses, previous prescriptions and eye records, medicine list, recent sugar and BP readings, and ID
Your card and referral paperwork for ECHS, CGHS, Ayushman Bharat or the Haryana scheme
Contact lens wearers: stop lenses before a refractive assessment — call us first, the washout varies by lens type

We are closed on Sunday, and Saturday slots fill quickly — book ahead if the weekend is your only option.
