Dr. Hem Shah

Dr. Hem Shah is a corneal and phaco surgeon who heads the cornea service at Dayal Eye Centre. She completed her MBBS from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences and her DNB in ophthalmology from Dr. SMCSI Medical College, Trivandrum, in 2011, followed by specialisation in cornea and anterior segment at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai.

Her surgical range covers the full spectrum of cataract surgery — ECCE, SICS, phacoemulsification and femto-cataract with multifocal and toric lenses — alongside laser vision correction: FemtoLASIK, Femto Contoura, Epi-Contoura, PRK, SMILE and SILK.

She also performs therapeutic and optical corneal transplants, corneal lamellar surgeries, corneal tear repair, pterygium excision with autograft and glue, PRP and intravitreal injections.
