Blepharoplasty is surgery to remove or reposition excess skin, muscle and fat of the eyelids. Upper blepharoplasty addresses heavy, hooded upper lids; lower blepharoplasty addresses under-eye bags and puffiness.
It suits people bothered by a tired, aged eye appearance, and is medically indicated when sagging upper-lid skin (dermatochalasis) droops far enough to block the upper field of vision — in which case it may be covered by insurance.
Excess upper-lid skin that makes the eyes look tired or aged.
Lower-lid bagginess that a good night’s sleep no longer fixes.
A refreshed, more rested look while keeping a natural result.
Dermatochalasis heavy enough to affect your field of vision — a functional case that may be covered by insurance.
Blepharoplasty is usually a day-care procedure under local anaesthesia. Incisions are placed in the natural upper-lid crease or just below the lower lashes (or inside the lid), so scars are well hidden. Most people return to normal activities within a week or two.
Expect some bruising and swelling for the first week, settling over a few weeks. We give you a clear aftercare plan.

Bruising and swelling are most noticeable; most people return to normal activities within one to two weeks.
Swelling steadily settles and the eye area starts to look refreshed. We follow your recovery with a clear aftercare plan.
The final, natural-looking result appears as healing completes. Results vary by individual.
Indicative, subject to consultation — cosmetic blepharoplasty is usually self-pay, while functional cases may be covered by insurance.
