Specialist Eye Surgery for Ghaziabad Patients

Patients do reach us from Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara, Raj Nagar Extension and Crossings Republik — almost never because we're close, because we're not. They come for a particular laser, a particular sub-speciality surgeon, or a second opinion on an operation someone has already recommended. This page is honest about the journey first, then clear about when crossing the NCR earns its place in your week.

What You NoticeHow Soon
Sudden vision loss, a curtain across your sight, new floaters with flashes Same day — emergency, locally
Eye injury, chemical splash, severe pain with redness and vomiting Same day — locally
Diabetes with no retinal check in the past 12 months Within weeks, even if vision feels normal
Glare and haloes from headlights, colours looking washed out Within a month — often cataract
Power that has jumped again in under a year Within a month — worth a corneal assessment
A child who tilts their head or has an eye that drifts Within a month — squint and lazy eye respond better early
Only your glasses number has changed An optometrist in Ghaziabad is enough

Not sure which of these is you? A single consultation with our doctors tells you exactly where you stand — and we'll tell you plainly if something belongs closer to home.

First, the Honest Bit

Let's Be Straight About the Distance First

Ghaziabad is in Uttar Pradesh, on the far side of Delhi from us. We're in Sector 15 Part 2, Gurugram — roughly 55–65 km away, usually 90 to 120 minutes each way, either around the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways or through Delhi on the DND Flyway and Ring Road. On a bad afternoon it's longer. Those figures are approximate and traffic-dependent, not a schedule.

That makes Ghaziabad the furthest catchment we serve, and the least convenient. The Indirapuram–Vaishali belt also has plenty of eye hospitals of its own. So, plainly: routine eye care belongs close to home. What follows is the honest case for everything else.

Keep This Local

Not worth four hours in a car

A power check, a new spectacle prescription, a red eye, a stye (guheri), dry-eye symptoms from long screen hours, an annual examination — have these done by a good eye doctor in Ghaziabad. None of them justify the journey, and we'd rather tell you so.

Laser Vision Correction: Which Option, and Who It Suits

The Indirapuram, Vaishali and Vasundhara belt is young, urban and screen-heavy — so refractive surgery is by far the most common reason someone from Ghaziabad looks beyond their own city. There's no single procedure that suits everyone; there's the one that suits your cornea, your power and your eyes.

OptionBroadly SuitsWorth Knowing
SMILE
ZEISS VisuMax
Myopia (nearsightedness), with or without astigmatismSmall incision rather than a corneal flap; follow-ups free for the first month
Contoura Vision
WaveLight EX500
Eyes with measurable irregularities on corneal topographyTopography-guided ablation, mapped to your own cornea
Femto LASIK
Femtosecond laser
Most standard LASIK candidatesFlap made with a femtosecond laser, not a blade
Standard / SBK LASIK
Excimer laser
Myopia, hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism within rangeThe long-established route, widest evidence base
Epi-Contoura · StreamLight · PRK
Surface procedures
Thinner corneas, or work and sport risking knocks to the eyeSurface procedures; recovery is slower and more gradual
ICL
Implantable lens
Very high power, or corneas unsuitable for laserAn implanted lens instead of reshaping the cornea
Ortho-K
Overnight lenses
Children and adults not having surgeryOvernight lenses; non-surgical

Eligibility is decided by measurement, not preference — corneal thickness and shape on the OCULUS Pentacam, how stable your power has been, pupil size, tear film and general eye health. Some people arrive set on SMILE and leave booked for Contoura, or the reverse; some are advised not to have laser at all. Individual results vary, and outcomes described here are not a promise of a specific result.

Easy EMI (via Savein)

Cashless treatment is available across a wide panel of insurers and TPAs, and we're empanelled with CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) and the Health Department, Government of Haryana — the full list is on our policies and insurance page. If you're self-paying, Easy EMI via Savein covers LASIK, cataract and retina, with EMI also through NBFC partners and select debit cards; a nominal processing fee may apply.

Settle This Before You Travel

You'd be crossing from UP into Haryana

Scheme entitlements don't always cross a state boundary the way people assume. PM-JAY portability, CGHS and ECHS referrals raised in UP, and cashless pre-authorisation all need confirming for your particular card or policy. Call our insurance desk first — a short call that can save a wasted 120 km round trip.

Crossing the NCR: Routes From Ghaziabad

Navigate to 32nd Avenue either way — we're about 150 m from it in Sector 15 Part 2, just off NH-48, with on-site parking, ramps and lifts for wheelchair access.

By Road

Approximately 55–65 km and usually 90 to 120 minutes each way. The peripheral route — Eastern Peripheral onto the Western Peripheral (KMP) Expressway, entering Gurugram from the south — is longer in kilometres but avoids Delhi’s city traffic. The through-Delhi route — DND Flyway or the Akshardham corridor, then Ring Road and NH-48 — is shorter on the map and far more variable in practice.

By Metro

If you’d rather not drive — and for a patient who will be dilated, the wiser choice — take the Blue Line from Vaishali, or Noida Electronic City if nearer, towards Rajiv Chowk; change to the Yellow Line, continue to IFFCO Chowk, then a short auto ride of 3.5–4 km. A long journey with a change in the middle, but predictable in a way the road is not.

A Practical Tip

Take the earliest slot you can — it gets you across the NCR before the worst of the traffic, in both directions. Shared autos and e-rickshaws wait at 32nd Avenue and along the NH-48 service road. Distances and times are approximate and traffic-dependent.

"Dayal Eye Centre is a single NABH-accredited eye hospital in Sector 15, Gurugram. We serve patients from Ghaziabad and across Delhi-NCR; we do not operate a separate branch in Ghaziabad."

How Many Trips Does This Really Take?

The question that decides whether the plan is workable. Here's the honest shape of it, using a refractive pathway as the example.

Visit 1

Candidacy workup

Dilated examination, corneal tomography, aberrometry, tear-film assessment and a review of your past prescriptions. Allow two to three hours. This visit decides whether you are a candidate at all, and for which procedure. Call before you travel if you wear contact lenses — the washout period differs by lens type, and arriving in lenses will cost you the trip.

Visit 2

The procedure

Most of what we do, including laser vision correction and routine cataract surgery, is same-day day care — you arrive, you are operated on, you go home the same day. Our in-patient ward has general, semi-private and private beds if your surgeon judges an overnight stay safer, which matters when home is two hours away.

Visit 3

The next-day check

Not negotiable, and it cannot be done remotely. Many Ghaziabad patients stay overnight nearby rather than make the round trip twice in two days.

Visits 4 onwards

Later follow-ups

Ask which of these can be spaced out, combined, or done by an eye doctor closer to home with reports shared back to us — for a patient in Ghaziabad, several usually can. What cannot be delegated is the early post-operative period. Agree that plan before surgery, not afterwards.

On the Day

Before you set off

Take the earliest appointment slot you can
Don’t drive yourself back — bring someone, or take the metro
Bring an attendant for any procedure
Bring glasses, previous prescriptions and eye records, medicine list, recent sugar/BP readings, ID, and your insurance or scheme card
We’re open Mon–Sat, 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM, closed Sunday — Saturday slots fill quickly

Dilating drops blur vision for hours — don't plan to drive yourself back across the NCR. Bring someone, or take the metro.

FAQs

Questions Patients From Ghaziabad Ask Us

No. Dayal Eye Centre is one NABH-accredited eye hospital in Sector 15 Part 2, Gurugram. We run no branch, unit or clinic in Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Vaishali or anywhere else — but we do see patients from Ghaziabad.

Sometimes, not always. For routine eye care, a power check, dry eye or a minor infection, no — have that done in Ghaziabad. It is worth considering if you want SMILE on the ZEISS VisuMax and Contoura Vision on the WaveLight EX500 assessed side by side under one roof, if you need a fellowship-trained retina, cornea, oculoplasty or paediatric-squint surgeon, if your case is complex, or if you want an independent second opinion. Ghaziabad has capable eye hospitals of its own.

Approximately 55–65 km and usually 90 to 120 minutes each way, via the Peripheral Expressways or through Delhi on the DND and Ring Road. Heavily traffic-dependent — plan for the longer end and book an early slot.

Yes. Blue Line from Vaishali or Noida Electronic City towards Rajiv Chowk, change to the Yellow Line, get off at IFFCO Chowk, then a short auto ride of about 3.5–4 km. Long, but predictable, and it removes the problem of driving home after dilation.

Usually a candidacy workup, the procedure day, a next-day check, then reviews over the following weeks. The next-day check cannot be skipped. Several later reviews can often be spaced out or done closer to home in coordination with your treating surgeon — agree that before surgery.

Only after a full evaluation, and only if your surgeon is satisfied you are ready. Some procedures can be scheduled quickly once the workup is complete; others need further tests or medical clearance. Please call before travelling rather than arriving expecting same-day surgery.

We offer cashless treatment with a wide panel of insurers and TPAs and are empanelled with CGHS, ECHS and Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY). Because you would be crossing from Uttar Pradesh into Haryana, portability, referral paperwork and pre-authorisation should be confirmed for your card or policy before you travel. Call +91 81786 39701 and our insurance desk will check. If you are self-paying, Easy EMI is available through Savein.

Most procedures are same-day day care. Our in-patient ward has general, semi-private and private beds if your surgeon recommends staying, and some Ghaziabad patients stay locally overnight so the next-day check does not mean a second round trip.
