Ways To Pay

How Can You Pay for Treatment at Dayal Eye Centre?

There are four routes — and they can be combined. It is common to use insurance for the admission and pay separately for an upgraded lens or a non-covered item.

Route 1
Cashless insurance

If your insurer or TPA is empanelled with us, approved treatment is billed directly to them.

Route 2
Government & PSU schemes

CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), Health Department Government of Haryana, and the four public-sector insurers.

Route 3
Easy EMI

Monthly instalments through Savein, NBFC partners or select debit cards.

Route 4
Self-pay

Cash, card, UPI or net banking, with a printed bill and discharge summary you can submit for reimbursement later.

Health Insurance

Do You Accept My Health Insurance?

Almost certainly, yes — but how you pay depends on whether we are empanelled with your insurer or TPA.

Cashless

We raise a pre-authorisation request with your insurer or Third Party Administrator (TPA) before surgery. Once they approve, they settle the approved amount with us directly and you pay only what falls outside the approval.

Reimbursement

You pay at discharge and claim the money back from your insurer yourself. We give you the full documentation set — bills, discharge summary, investigation reports, implant sticker — so your claim is complete. This is the route when your insurer is not empanelled with us, or when cashless is declined for a policy reason such as a waiting period.

Empanelment lists change — insurers and TPAs add and withdraw hospitals, and policy terms are revised. Treat the list above as a guide, not a confirmation. Our insurance desk verifies your current status before admission, and that verification is what counts.

Government & PSU Schemes

What Government and PSU Schemes Do You Accept?

Eligibility is decided by the scheme authority, not by us. What we can do is verify your card, raise the request correctly and keep you informed at each stage.

CGHS

Central Government Health Scheme, for serving and retired central government employees, pensioners and dependants with a valid CGHS card.

ECHS

Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, for ex-servicemen, dependants and eligible war widows with an ECHS smart card.

Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY)

For families identified as eligible under the national scheme, using a valid Ayushman card linked to the beneficiary. Our work under this scheme was recognised with the Ayushman Bharat Award by Dainik Jagran in 2021 and again in 2024.

Health Department, Government of Haryana

For state government employees and beneficiaries covered under Haryana health department arrangements.

NDMC

New Delhi Municipal Council health scheme, for NDMC employees, pensioners and dependants with a valid NDMC card.

PSU insurers

United India, New India Assurance, National Insurance and The Oriental Insurance, for policyholders and public-sector group scheme members.

Step by Step

What Is the Cashless Process, Step by Step?

01
Bring your ID and card

A government photo ID plus your insurance card, e-card, CGHS/ECHS card or Ayushman card, and the policy number if your card is digital.

02
Meet the insurance desk

We verify that your insurer or TPA is currently empanelled with us and that the planned treatment falls within your policy.

03
Pre-authorisation is raised

Your surgeon records the diagnosis, planned procedure and estimated cost, and we submit the form to your insurer or TPA.

04
The insurer or scheme decides

They may approve in full, approve in part, raise a query, or decline. That decision rests entirely with them — we cannot promise an outcome, and no hospital can.

05
Admission

Once approval is received you are admitted, usually same-day in a planned cataract or retina case.

06
Treatment

Surgery is performed in one of our three modular operation theatres, with post-operative care in our in-patient ward.

07
Final billing and discharge

The approved amount is billed to your insurer. You settle the balance, and we hand over your discharge summary, operative notes, implant details and bills.

What You Still Pay in a Cashless Case

Most policies leave some items with the patient even after approval: your deductible or co-payment, non-medical and consumable items, any room upgrade beyond your entitlement, post-operative spectacles, and anything excluded or approved at less than the billed amount. Premium lens upgrades are often only partly covered. We give you the expected out-of-pocket figure in writing before surgery.

Our Commitments

Our Patient Policies

Privacy and records

Your medical records are confidential. We share them with an insurer, TPA or scheme authority only as far as your claim requires, and we do not identify patients in any marketing material or case description.

Informed consent

Before any procedure your surgeon explains what is planned, the alternatives, the expected recovery and the risks, and you sign a consent form. Suitability depends on a detailed evaluation — not every patient is a candidate, and we will tell you plainly if you are not.

Appointments and cancellation

Book online or by phone. If you need to reschedule, tell us as early as you can so the slot can go to another patient. Specific cancellation and refund timelines are confirmed by our front desk at the time of booking.

Second opinions are welcome

If you want another surgeon’s view before deciding, say so. We will give you your reports and imaging to take with you, and there is no awkwardness in coming back — or in not coming back.

Feedback and grievances

If something has gone wrong, write to wecare@dayaleyecentre.in or ask at reception for the administrator on duty. We would rather hear it from you than not hear it at all.

Social outreach

We run 15–20 community eye camps every month under our “Saving Sights, Saving Lives” programme. If you are organising a camp for a school, RWA, workplace or village, reach us on the same email.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Cataract surgery is covered by most Indian health insurance policies and is one of the most commonly claimed eye procedures. Cover is usually subject to your sum insured, any cataract sub-limit and the waiting period in your policy. Premium lens upgrades may be only partly covered. Our insurance desk checks your specific policy before surgery.

Usually not. Refractive procedures such as LASIK, Contoura Vision and SMILE are generally treated as elective by Indian insurers and are commonly excluded. Some corporate policies cover refractive surgery above a certain power, or where it is medically indicated. Check your own policy wording — and if it is not covered, Easy EMI is available.

It varies by insurer and TPA. Many planned cases are decided within a few working hours once the complete request is submitted; others take longer if a query is raised. Submitting papers a day or two ahead of surgery gives the smoothest experience. We cannot promise a timeline on an insurer’s behalf.

Yes. We treat patients under Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), and our work under the scheme was recognised with the Ayushman Bharat Award in 2021 and 2024. Bring your Ayushman card and linked photo ID, and contact our insurance desk before the day of admission.

You can still be treated here — you would pay at discharge and claim reimbursement afterwards, and we provide the full documentation set your insurer needs. Call us anyway: empanelment lists change and your TPA may have been added since this page was updated.

Yes. Cataract surgery is EMI-eligible, along with LASIK and retina procedures. Easy EMI is available through Savein, with further options through NBFC partners and select debit cards. A nominal processing fee may apply.

Most Indian health policies apply a specific waiting period to cataract, often counted in years from the policy start date, and many also set a sub-limit on the amount payable. The exact terms are in your policy schedule — share your policy number and our insurance desk will read the relevant clauses with you.

Often there is a small amount to settle: registration, consumables, non-medical items, any co-payment your policy specifies, and anything approved at less than the billed amount. Some insurers also ask for a refundable deposit until approval is confirmed. We give you the expected figure in writing before surgery.
