Cataract surgery can be paid for in monthly instalments through our Easy EMI facility, provided by our finance partner Savein. On an Easy EMI plan you repay the treatment cost in instalments — with no interest added to the plan.
Full payment, insurance and scheme detailsEMI is available through NBFC partners and select debit cards — not only credit cards.
A nominal processing fee may apply, depending on the plan and the partner bank.
Cataract, LASIK and retina procedures are all EMI-eligible.
Approvals are handled by our billing desk, usually while you are still at the centre.
The surgical technique is chosen on the density of your cataract, the health of your cornea and the support behind your lens — not on budget. Here is what each costs.
| Type of Cataract Surgery | Min (₹) | Average (₹) | Max (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phacoemulsification (one eye) | 20,000 | 26,000 | 32,000 |
| Microincision Cataract Surgery (MICS), one eye | 30,000 | 32,500 | 35,000 |
| Extracapsular Cataract Surgery (ECCE) | 25,000 | 30,000 | 35,000 |
| Intracapsular Cataract Surgery (ICCE) | 25,000 | 30,000 | 35,000 |
| Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Surgery (FLACS) | On consultation | — | — |
Femtosecond laser-assisted surgery (FLACS) is quoted on consultation — see the FLACS page for how the laser step changes the plan.
The standard: ultrasound breaks up the lens, which is removed through a self-sealing ~2.2 mm incision. No stitches.
The same principle through an even smaller incision.
Manual techniques reserved for very dense or hypermature cataracts, or eyes where the lens support is not intact. Larger incision, stitches, slower recovery.
Replaces the first three steps with a femtosecond laser. Priced on consultation, because the laser step is added to the technique and lens your eye needs.
Standard technique detail: Phacoemulsification · Laser-assisted: what the randomised evidence says about FLACS
The lens is the part of your bill you actually decide, and it is worth understanding what you are deciding between. There is no lens that does everything — each type trades one thing for another.
| Lens type | What it corrects | The trade-off | Price band (per eye) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monofocal | Distance vision | Reading glasses will still be needed | ₹18,000 – ₹50,000 |
| Multifocal / trifocal | Near and distance | Halos and glare are more common; contrast sensitivity is reduced | ₹15,000 – ₹90,000 |
| Toric | Spherical power and astigmatism | May not remove the need for glasses entirely | ₹45,000 – ₹75,000 |
| Accommodating | Adjusts between near and distance | Does not correct astigmatism on its own | ₹1,00,000 – ₹1,50,000 |
A Cochrane review of 20 randomised trials (2,061 people, 3,194 eyes) found multifocal IOLs reduce spectacle dependence, but halos were around 3.5× more common and glare around 1.4× more common than with monofocal lenses. The reviewers concluded that motivation to achieve spectacle independence is likely to be the deciding factor (de Silva et al., 2016).
A meta-analysis of 13 randomised trials (1,413 eyes) found toric IOLs give better uncorrected distance vision, about 0.37 D less residual astigmatism, and significantly greater spectacle independence, with no significant increase in complications (Kessel et al., Ophthalmology, 2016).
Registry analysis of 89,947 eyes found Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy for posterior capsule opacification was needed in 4.1% of monofocal and 21.2% of diffractive multifocal/EDOF implants (Horn et al., 2022). This is a short in-clinic laser treatment, not another operation — but it is a real difference between lens types and you should know it before you choose.
All lens prices per eye, starting from. Availability of a specific lens model depends on your eye measurements and on stock; your surgeon will recommend the lens that suits your eye, and we will tell you if the one you have read about is not the right choice for you.
The standard we hold ourselves to is that you should know what is in the number and what is not, before you agree to it.
The surgeon’s fee
Operation theatre and hospital charges
The selected intraocular lens
Pre-surgical investigations required for the procedure
Post-operative consultations during the standard follow-up period
Additional diagnostic tests your eye needs beyond the standard workup
Post-operative medications and eye drops
The additional charge for femtosecond laser assistance
Any upgrade to a premium intraocular lens above the standard implant
Treatment for any coexisting condition
Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy, if posterior capsule opacification develops later
Spectacles, if required after surgery
Coexisting conditions are treated on their own pathway — glaucoma, retinal disease, corneal disease.
