It is written for the patient coming for a first OPD consultation, the attendant planning around someone else's appointment, and the family preparing for cataract (motiyabind / safed motia), retina or eyelid surgery. Everything below applies to our single centre in Sector 15 Part 2, Gurgaon. If something here does not answer your question, call or WhatsApp +91 81786 39701.
Bring a photo ID, your old prescriptions and the glasses you currently wear, any eye drops and regular medicines you take (the bottles and strips are more useful than a list), and previous reports or scans from another hospital. If you are using insurance, CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman Bharat or a Haryana Government scheme, carry that card or letter. Old glasses matter more than people expect — comparing your current power with today's reading tells our doctors how your eyes have changed.
On arrival, you register at the front desk and our optometry team does the preliminary work-up — vision testing, your glasses number (power), eye pressure and, where needed, imaging on equipment such as ZEISS IOLMaster 700 optical biometry or RTVue FD-OCT. You then see the specialist for that sub-speciality — we run six sub-specialities under one roof, each led by a senior specialist, so you are seen by the right doctor.
A full work-up with dilation and consultation usually takes 90 minutes to two and a half hours. A review visit is much quicker. Booking ahead through our appointment page shortens the wait considerably.
Most complete eye examinations need your pupils widened so the doctor can see the retina properly. For a few hours afterwards your near vision is blurred and bright light feels harsh, so do not drive yourself home — bring someone with you or plan a cab, and carry sunglasses.
Most eye procedures we perform are same-day day care. You come in the morning, the procedure is done in one of our three modular operation theatres, you are observed, and you go home the same day. There is no routine overnight stay for a standard cataract or refractive procedure.
Your surgeon's instructions come first — including anything about fasting, which depends on the anaesthesia planned for you. Do not assume the instructions a friend or relative was given apply to you. Arrange for an adult to accompany you both ways; you will not be able to drive or travel alone afterwards. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and leave jewellery and make-up at home.
You are registered, prepared for theatre and given drops to dilate and numb the eye. Most cataract and refractive procedures are done under drop or local anaesthesia, so time in theatre is short — though your total time at the centre is longer, with preparation and observation.
You rest, our nursing team checks the eye, and the surgeon explains your drop schedule, what is normal in the first days and when to come back. You usually leave with a protective shield or dark glasses, and your attendant takes you home the same day. If you notice increasing pain or a sudden drop in vision, call +91 81786 39701 rather than waiting for the next review.
Suitability for any procedure depends on a detailed evaluation — not every patient is a candidate, and we will tell you plainly if you are not.
Some patients — particularly those having certain retina, glaucoma or oculoplasty procedures, or with other conditions needing closer observation — are admitted to our in-patient ward.
Pack your medical records and previous eye reports, all current medicines including your eye drops, and loose clothing with front-opening tops. Bring a case for spectacles, contact lenses or hearing aids, and leave valuables and jewellery at home. If you take blood thinners or any medicine that affects clotting, tell your surgeon well before the date — some may need to be paused, but only on your doctor's advice.
Report at the time your team gives you and complete formalities at the front desk. If you are using cashless insurance or a government scheme, our billing team needs your card, ID and policy documents to begin approval — starting early makes the day smoother. Details are on our policies and insurance page.
The nursing team prepares you, you go to theatre at your scheduled slot and return to the ward for observation. One attendant can usually stay with you through the day. Before you leave you get a written discharge summary, your drop schedule, your review appointment and clear instructions on what to avoid — rubbing the eye, dust, swimming and heavy lifting are the usual ones.
Our ward has general, semi-private and private options. Availability and current tariffs change, so please confirm with our front desk when your admission is planned.
Our ward visiting hours are 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM, matching our OPD hours. A visitor pass is issued at reception on arrival — please carry it and return it when you leave.
Attendants matter — many of our patients are elderly and need a familiar person to remember instructions and manage drops at home. If you are the attendant, listen carefully during the discharge briefing and photograph the drop chart.
For infection-control reasons, young children may not be permitted in some clinical areas. Please check the current age rule with our front desk before bringing a child.
Please keep the number of visitors at the bedside small. Patients recovering from eye surgery are often light-sensitive and tire quickly, and a quiet room genuinely helps.
We are at 808 B, Galaxy Road, Sector 15 Part 2, right beside 32nd Avenue and just off NH-48. Map coordinates: 28.4628° N, 77.0498° E.
Take NH-48 (the Delhi–Jaipur / Delhi–Gurgaon Expressway) and exit onto the service road at 32nd Avenue. We are roughly 150 metres from 32nd Avenue on Galaxy Road. On-site parking is available; allow extra time at peak hours, when the NH-48 stretch is slow.
IFFCO Chowk is the most practical station at about 3.5–4 km, roughly a 10–12 minute cab or auto ride. Millennium City Centre is about 4 km and MG Road about 5 km; autos and cabs are available at all three.
Gurugram Bus Stand / ISBT Sector 12 is about 2.5–3 km away. Local stops at ITI Colony and Old DLF Colony, Sector 14 are closer, about 1.2 km. Shared autos and e-rickshaws run readily outside the centre, at 32nd Avenue and along the NH-48 service road, which makes that last stretch simple.
About 16–20 km, roughly 30–40 minutes via NH-48 or the Dwarka Expressway, traffic depending.
About 32–36 km, roughly 55–75 minutes by road. In the morning peak, allow the longer end of that range, or take the Yellow Line to IFFCO Chowk and a short cab from there.
If you cannot find the turn, call +91 81786 39701 and we will guide you in.
We have ramps and lifts so wheelchair users and patients who cannot manage stairs can reach consultation and diagnostic areas. Wheelchairs are available on request — ask at reception, or mention it when you book so we can have one ready.
Seating is provided in our waiting areas, including for the period after dilation drops when patients prefer lower light. Our staff are used to helping elderly patients with registration, moving between rooms and understanding instructions, and we would rather you ask than manage alone. Attendants may accompany patients through registration, testing and consultation, and on-site parking makes drop-off easier for anyone with limited mobility.
If you have a specific access requirement — a stretcher transfer, a hearing difficulty, a patient who becomes disoriented in new places — tell us on +91 81786 39701 in advance and we will plan around it.
We accept cash, card, UPI and net banking for self-pay treatment, and offer cashless treatment across a wide list of empanelled insurers and TPAs. We are also empanelled for CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) and the Health Department, Government of Haryana.
For planned procedures such as LASIK, cataract and retina surgery, Easy EMI is available through Savein, with EMI also via NBFC partners and select debit-card options; a nominal processing fee may apply.
The full list of insurers, TPAs and schemes, with the documents to carry, is on our policies and insurance page. Bring your policy or scheme card and photo ID for any visit where you intend to use it.
Dayal Eye Centre is NABH-accredited, which means our clinical processes, theatre protocols, infection control and record-keeping are audited against national quality standards rather than left to habit. Our three modular operation theatres and in-patient ward run to those protocols.
Nothing is done without your informed consent. Before any procedure, your surgeon explains what is planned, the realistic outcome, the alternatives and the risks, and you sign a consent form — use that conversation to ask what you need to ask.
Your records are confidential and shared only with you, a person you authorise, or where the law or your insurer's claim process requires it. To request a copy of your reports or discharge summary, ask at the front desk with photo ID, or email wecare@dayaleyecentre.in from your registered address.
Consult with our doctors — our senior specialists will tell you what your eyes need, what they do not need, and what to expect.
