A normal diet which is nutritious and easily digestible  can be started after cataract surgery on the same day . It's important to keep the patient well hydrated and to avoid constipation. This will prevent patients from straining .

The cloudy lens of cataract is removed by phacoemulsification followed by implanting an artificial clear lens at its place. This lens is customised as per the patient's eye measurements taken before surgery.  

There is a very small incision of 1.2mm to put the lens inside. No suture is required. Healing is complete by 4 weeks.

Its a normal  part of aging which happens due to changes in lens protiens making it cloudy.

Till your routine work is not disturbed due to cataract , you can postpone getting surgery. But don't postpone too much because too much hardening of the lens can be a complicated surgery.

Cataract is not genetic but it can be present from birth if the baby is exposed to certain infections inside the mother’s womb. This is also surgically treated to allow for vision of the baby to develop.

After 1 week head bath can be taken normally. 

Generally newer lenses offer a wide range of choices . all lenses are good but the lens which is best for your eye is decided by the results of the tests done before surgery. Once cataract is treated, the cloudy lens is replaced with artificial lens which serves the purpose for lifelong.

By doing timely surgery , complications can be prevented. If cataract treatment  is postponed, it becomes too hard causing it to be a difficult surgery. 

3 to 4 days  ​

With new advances, its very rare but if patient has any other condition like glaucoma or retina issues, vision recovery after cataract surgery may be less than expected without these pre existing conditions.
